Time lapse videos have always mesmorized me. Using photographs to compress time is as close to time travel we humans can experience. Mundane occurances like the movement of the night sky or clouds passing by on a sunny day transform the unnoticeable world showing the wonderous power of our planet.
Finding "the perfect shot" is the dream of any photographer. The best videos are difficult to recreate but I will continue to work and overcome the challenges nature and technology present.
The Insta360 One RS was released mid 2022 and is capable of shooting 6k 360 video and a 21 MP 360 photos thanks to dual 1-inch CMOS sensors. Large sensors Star Lapse settings make it ideal for capturing the night sky. Making the rotation of earth noticable.
Issues I've been having revolve around battery life, which isn't great on it's own. To overcome this limitation I connect a battery bank for longer shots. I can stretch the filming time from 30 min to over 12 hours. Heat also becomes an issue as the camera tends to over heat if the settings are maxed out, I haven't found a solution yet. I have been imaging a custom heat sink to mount around the body.
Follow along as I find the perfect shot!
Photography is an art and the only way to get better is to keep at it. Giving up when things get tough is doubly detrimental to the psyche. Energy spent feels wasted and giving up tears at the soul. How do we get better? We do, then do again, when you make a thing part of your every day improvement follows. Putting in the work and possibly failing over and over again smooths out the kinks, prepares the mind to visualize the path. To do a great thing is a payoff for keeping at it. Quitting weakens the mind and spirit,
